Hello all! So here she is. I found this '78 scout II on Craigslist.com the day it posted about 1 month ago. I called the guy that night and drove it home the next day for $800.
The owner claimed it was all original and that the top had never been off. Well, I don't know about that but it's complete and runs well...almost no rust too! Anyway, I've got a whole bunch in store for this thing over time but hope to have it streetable with the SOA/RS complete by the Fall Rallye. Here's the plans in no particular order: 35-12.50-15 Swamper SSR's Stock width 44's (front gm)with 4.88's, full spools and molly's Rear Disc Conversion, Front Ford Hysteer SOA/RS CV Driveshafts Fresh 345/BM700R4 W/Cooling upgrades Bumpers, Cage, Sliders ...Fingers crossed. Here is the thing after I got it in the shop. I was excited so I didn't get any pics on the ground, but it looked like every other old stock binder. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I just filled out my registration form for the Rallye, so I guess I better get going. I removed the interior and was pleased to find less rust than I thought would be there.

The top was taken off. Paint/Rust removed from the floor, treated and sealed. I removed the rear axle and performed the spring over. After check fit, it was taken apart and cleaned up/painted along with the springs. I started on the front end.
