I am new to the IH world. I bought one a while back and have been making slow progress on it. Jeff has been a great help. Here are some pictures that show what I started with. I plan to stuff some 35's under it and install a fuel injected 5.7L HEMI it. I already have the motor and will post pics later

I did the shackle reversal and got the HEMI mounted in the frame rails this weekend. I also got the axels built and the rear disc conversion done. We were realy busy, but it was worth it. Have some issues with the front steering links but I think we put the new springs in backwards. I am going flip them around and see what happens. I am also getting with Jeff, to see what he thinks.

This izza GREAT swaparoo!!!
I'mma oldfashioned 727 builder...but I've not messed with the late model electric trannys. So I gather that the oldskool Chrysler pattern bell bolts right to the newskool Hemimotor?? Whatta 'bout the flex plate/converter setup, what are ya usin'?? Any workarounds involved other than swapping out the Chrysler output shaft for the SII shaft?? SII output shafts are gonna soon become extinct if this keeps up! I'm down to only one now but it MUST stay inna IH pattern tranny. And if you need that "special" tailhousing bearing behind the output gear for the transfer case, Jeff has 'em IN STOCK NOW! The real deal bearings fabbed by Bearing Tech in Carlton, OR.

According to my Chrysler tranny guy that toredown the IH727, all the internals are the same. The chrysler 727 bolts up to the late model HEMI. I purchased spacer and fly wheel from Street and Performance. They do Hemi and GM swaps into all kinds of vehicles. I hope I'm the first to put a new HEMI into a Scout.

While I bought another one because it came with alot of parts I needed for mine. Previous owner bought the new body parts (including a used tub) to repair the black Scout but never finished the work. The black Scout has a lot of rust, every where. Now I am ready for some body work on mine and I have one to go wheeling with in the mean time. In the winter, things slow down in my business and ths HEMI Scout will help keep some guys busy for a few weeks. Look for updates soon. We should make a lot of progress by the end of January.
![]() ![]() My new wheeler needs some work also but I think it will do the job, for now. Who knows maybe I will sell it or part it out when I finish the first one. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
