Default 1st IH Scout SOA

OK, Here it is..
1973 Scout II 345, 727 Dana 20 Seen here with some 4" shackles and a bump steer that would scare the BaJeebies out of anyone..

Got it for $200.00 Licensed for under $60.00

Planned SOA to fit 35" tires.

Default The Plan

Not enough Money for a spring lift so I will have to do with what I have.
I already acquired a '78 Traveler from my Father In Law. I will use the Dana 44s front and rear from that. Disc Brakes up front and Larger drums in the rear.

SOA. Break the Knuckles loose and give them 5 degs Pos. Caster. Rotate the front differential about 12 degs. up...

Z-Link Steering using a method I found on another Forum. Providing strength by encasing the cut and bent Drag link with 3/4" Angle Iron.

Replace the Long Shackles with the stock ones and put the stock traveler springs under the rig.....

Here is my gage.. My buddies 4-Runner. This wont do.. The scout must show its beef on the outside not just the inside.

Default Re: 1st IH Scout SOA

Well jumping well forward, due to time. Here is where I am at currently..

35" MTRs
SOA
Tune up the engine

On the Schedule..
Repair Broken Trans. mount
Repair Bent Tie Rod... ( Will worry about Tougher one at time for Hi steer )
4.56 Gears and at least rear locker..

That should allow me to have some fun when the snow hits this winter...

You will be repairing it again if you don't upgrade or at the very least replace your current one. Looks really good though, are you bringing it to the Rallye?
