Michael,
i was looking at getting a rebuilt 1904 carb for my scout 80, and i've seen in some posts that you sell them. what do you charge for a rebuilt one or for rebuilding one? thanks, Nathan -
Mike I just sent a a post around My D.U.I. install with pics. Looks like the pics didn't make it through due to a "security token". Was asked to send error message to the administrator and was popped with an "invalid post". Any assistance would be welcome.

I'll get right to my question. I read a comment you made on binderplanet about getting a distributor machine and I wonder, did you get one? If so, how much did you pay? I was trained on one at the local vocational school (many years ago) and have thought about looking for one at auction but thought it would be too expensive.
I've only been a Scout owner for a few months but I've been tinkering with anything with wheels since I was old enough to work a clutch. I recently got the urge for a new vehicle and I decided it would be a Scout as a sort of homage to my grand-dad who worked at Harvester most of his adult life. I have an 80 with the 152 and have been thinking about getting a used distributor just to try different setups without changing the working setup in the truck.
Thanks

08-06-2010 07:19 PM - permalinkBill BennettMichael, I just returned from the RMIHR at Fairplay, Co. Elevation 10,000 ft. I changed out the main jets in my 350 cfm Ford/Holley 2300 carb from the #63 down to #61 before leaving home = +80 ft. Motor (304A) ran 'ok' ('small' ok!) at 10,000 ft elevation but felt like it was running out of gas from Flagstaff (7000ft) to home. Not a pleasant drive across the desert. I won't try again. We did win one of the 'Fall Rallye' registrations and if all goes well, we will be in attendance with the Travelall.
There is a good chance we will drive the '68 Travelall to the Binder Bee next year. I was impressed with the number of Travelalls the last time we drove up to the event. There were 6 'C' Travelalls and 6 'D' Travelalls. Maybe 2002? I don't believe it will be necessary to change the carb jets for that trip!

Hi Miichael,
I have seen many threads on the IHON site regarding the Holley 1904 carb and you appear to be the go-to guy. I got the impression that you are a source for rebuilt 1904 main-wells or carbs but I couldn't find any details about what exactly was available or pricing.
I was going to rebuild my own - the spring-loaded pin/plunger valve seems to be working ok - but the two rebuild kits (Walker and Echlin) I have bought did not include the nylon accel-pump cam/lever; the lever is broken off of mine.
I checked Bobs Carbs in AZ but he is currently out of stock.
Do you have any available?
If they are only avail on a rebuild, can you give me pricing and core details?
Thanks

Hi - I'm new to this site, just starting to browse through the messages, but I remember seeing your name on some other IH sites I'm on. I have a 61 Scout that I'm trying to bring back to life. It's pretty much stock but it's missing quite a bit. The first thing I'm trying to do is to get the motor running steady. . Right now I'm working on a carburator, just finished a rebuild on the Holley 1 barrel. started up after the rebuild but is running rough and has small backfires through the carb have not tried to push it, but just finished the carb rebuild yesterday. Not positive on my timing so that issue will have to be taken care of before I really dig into the carb. The Scout's motor was running fine last year, then I let it sit for six months and then when I started it up this month, it ran horribly and poured gas out of the top of the carb so I purchased a carb kit from Mr. Scout and in the process of the overhaul I discovered that my accelerator cam was missing.

Michael:
Window of opportunity: until 5/21 @10:30AM.
I'm on Vancouver Island BC. I found this is a thrift shop
Dukane push button flip top sound film strip projector. Circa 1950
something.
Its a audio/visual machine. Records are 33.3rpm and a wide roll of film. What it was for is for a salesman to show all the features of the CASE tractors of the day. Its in great shape. Has two small suitcases of records. everthing is there.
What's it worth ...I have no idea.
If you know of a tractor nut in the club and they can do some overnight research and tell me what's the top dollar they would pay I can bring it back with me and then bring it to the Bee.
I'll check back in the morning. Or you can call me 509 899-1351.
If this is too much of a pig in a poke...no problem. I thought it so different i thought it worth a email.
