hmmm, something's changed... starting late last night, I think.
I have never "subscribed" to any thread (to my knowledge - which isn't much ).Now, it appears that I am subscribed to every thread that I posted a reply in. Based on the list that I see in my user profile -- and the email notifications that I am getting. |

That is the problem -- AFAIK, I did not change my user profile. I did look at it last night when I got the first couple emails, but did not notice the Instant Reply setting that I "found" this afternoon.
I did change it back this afternoon to Do Not Subscribe. And, Unsubscribed to 70+ threads one by one (PITA ) --none of which, interestingly, had the Instant box checked???Oh well another day in the life of PCs.... |

RobertC, I'm sure Jeff will correct me if I'm wrong, and I can certainly live with that if it winds up happening
but I believe the default setting for every member is to receive email notifications when new replies are posted to any thread you've subscribed to. Up until a day or two ago, this feature wasn't working. Jeff investigated the issue, made an adjustment and wahlah...email notifications are now working as they should be. This is great news unless like in your case for instance, you really don't want' the notifications. Unless I'm totally off base, and that's always a possibility, now that you've changed your user settings, you shouldn't receive any email notifications from any new threads that you subscribe/post to. Hopefully that's clear as mud now.

Hi, Trevor,
I understand -- somewhat I thought I had set up my profile for Do Not Subscribe... But, I had not "really looked" at it since I registered (a year ago?). So, I thought maybe a "switch had been thrown" on all users.... |
