Default Scout II defroster ducting.

My lil' bro's Scout is missing one of the duct pieces and the other hose is broken.

It appears to be standard 2" ducting.

Will this stuff work:

Defroster / Air Duct Hose - Universal, Hose - Air / Defroster; 2" x 72"

Or is it crap and should I stay away from it and buy some sweet OEM stuff that has been in a box in someones garage for 35 years....

That stuff will work fine Chris.

I know it's "tight" to get in there, but to secure the duct, I use zip ties around the OD of the hose like a "hose clamp"...CAREFULLY...that plastic duct work is rotten after all these years and easily broken...especially the mounting tabs.

This is in my truck -- my brothers is in way better shape. His hoses are super dry though.

EXACTLY!

I use that "Gorilla" brand duktape (heavy gauge black schnozz) to "reinforce" those ducts now any time I have one out. Just a nice layer of tape over the entire outside adds much durability and prevents the small chunks from disappearing when they do decide to leave the scene!
